A jealous thug bit off part of his pal's ear on New Year's Eve after he 'liked' a photo of his ex-girlfriend on Facebook.
Darren Smyth, 29, was in prison when Christian Adams supposedly added the 'like' online.
When Smyth was released from jail ,both he and Mr Adams, along with Smyth's former partner, were celebrating the New Year in The Royal Oak Hotel in Liscard Village, Wallasey.
When his friend approached to hug him, Smyth sunk his teeth into his left ear and ripped part of it off.The piece of Mr Adams' ear was never found.
In a victim personal statement, Mr Adams said:
It means he will serve at least two thirds of the sentence in jail.

"The impact emotionally has changed me from a sociable, confident lad with good job prospects, to an anxious, disfigured wreck."The judge said:
"I've seen the photograph of the wound you inflicted upon him, effectively removing the upper half of his left ear – a sadly disfiguring injury which will impact on him for many years to come."The judge gave him a four-year prison sentence, with an extended two years on licence.
It means he will serve at least two thirds of the sentence in jail.
